Prayer Considerations
for the March

1013334_sunset_silhouette

1. Aims of the March

  1.    To keep pace with the mind of God. Isa 26:8-9; Jer 29:13
  2.    To call God’s people to repentance. Joel 2:12-13
  3.    To unify the Church. Eph 4:1-4
  4.    To mobilise His people in a March of Repentance. Esther 4:1
  5.    For God to withhold His judgement on our Nation. 1Peter 4:17
  6.    For God to withhold His judgement on our Nation. 2Ch 7:14
  7.    To turn the Nation back to God. Isa 42:4; 1Cor 15:25; Php:9-112
  8.    To confound the forces of darkness. 2Ch 20:22; Psa 146:9
  9.    To show God that we are serious, and then to expect a miracle. Isa 6:8
  10.    For the Church to be silent no more. Mat 5:13; Mat 16: 18
  11.    Re-establish our Christian heritage in the UK
  12.    Re-establish godly laws that we have forsaken and forgotten
  13.    Re-establish godly principles in the family, the building block of society
  14.    End compromise with worldly, non-biblical values and preach the truth
  15.    Bring an end to mockery of God-given institutions

Listed below are the practical issues which need prayer. These are likely to develop over the months.

2. Practical issues of the March

That people would know Jesus and that the March would reflect the wishes of Jesus Christ and exalt his name in the home, Church and Nation

  • Management needs, people with the correct skills so that the March can be organised professionally and will glorify God
  • Funding for the preliminary and ongoing financial needs of the March
  • To revitalise Prayer and stir up Christian leaders so that they will actively participate in the March
  • Unity throughout the body of Christ
  • Pray for the need for adequate policing
  • The need for adequate emergency care, ambulances and St. Johns Ambulance
  • The need for adequate stewarding
  • The need to have an uninterrupted March
  • The need for unity between the March organisers, Churches and the Council representatives

The power of testimony

We repent of our lack of witness and resolve to be faithful to the great commission.

We are each responsible for witnessing to the unsaved- and even the shy can do it!

Our responsibility to society to lift up the name of Jesus.

We repent of hiding our light in a dark and aimless society.

As we look at the state of our society where ‘good is called evil and evil good’ we have a responsibility to speak and proclaim the hope that is in Jesus Christ. We see people without vision, carried along by the prevailing trends of society which lead to destruction; women and girls told that abortion is their ‘choice’ – but not told of the devastating consequences they may reap; Young people sold a lie that casual relationships are theirs for the taking without responsibility; People believing that material wealth will bring security and peace of mind… and so many more lies. We must not be afraid to tell the truth … people’s lives are at stake and most are blind to their true condition before God. It is a tragedy if we do not speak up.
