LAMPLIGHT BIBLE PLAN

In these difficult days, where truth has become subjective for so many, Christian Voice stands rock solid on the Bible as the revealed, inerrant word of God. The Christian Voice Statement of Faith says: "We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired, infallible, written Word of God to whose precepts, given for the good of nations and individuals, all man’s laws must submit."

I pray for our members to share a love of the Holy Scriptures and a desire to mould their lives around the mind of God revealed therein, as much as I pray for Godly government in our nation. To demonstrate the Christian Voice commitment to Biblical truth, and to encourage our members to seek the Lord in His Word, one of the first things we published back in 1995 was a one-year Bible reading plan, with the name "Lamplight".

The Lamplight plan enables the believer to read through the whole Bible in just one year, with a daily investment of only 15 or 20 minutes of the Lord’s time. There is a passage from both the Old Testament and the New Testament every day, with an accompanying Psalm or Wisdom word. The Old Testament runs chronologically, so the prophets are placed in context, but chapters (we read2 each day) remain whole. The New Testament alternates Gospels and groups of Epistles, beginning with Luke, and ending with Revelation.

Whilst compiling the Lamplight plan, I was very conscious of the Lord’s guiding hand over the whole project. For example, a letter arrived from someone unaware of what I was doing, which explained the right order of the book of Judges. Another letter sorted out Jeremiah. Where possible, Psalms are placed with relevant Old or New Testament passages, so that, for example, Psalm 22 is read with Matthew’s account of the Crucifixion of the Lord Jesus, and Psalm 2 with Revelation 19, but other co-incidences are there by the grace of God. For example, perhaps the most powerful day in the whole year is when we read in Exodus of the building of the tabernacle and the veil of separation, and then in Luke that the veil was rent in the midst when the Lord was crucified.

The Christian is built up and fully equipped through seeking the Lord in His Word, so I would encourage members of Christian Voice to order a copy of the Christian Voice "Lamplight" Bible reading plan without delay.
